Kinder to bloggers: Give me a call

If you need any more evidence that blogs have transformed political reporting, look no further than Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder.

Kinder is hosting a “bloggers conference call” this morning to discuss his support of a sales-tax holiday aimed at enticing Missouri shoppers to put their IRS rebate checks back into the economy.

The appeal to bloggers seems to be part of a pitch by Kinder to set down some net-roots as a he seeks a second term. Today’s blogger’s call is being arranged by the David All Group, a Republican consulting outfit out of Washington that specializes in harnessing the Internet to help GOP candidates.

They’ve also set up something called “KinderSpeaks,” which offers a YouTube platform to chat with the lieutenant governor. The first episode features Kinder in a diner, ordering the “special”: “common sense answers to the tough questions Missourians are talking about.”

Maybe this diner specializes in corny dishes?

Indeed, the Internet has changed everything we know about politics.

Thanks!

This is a great idea. Not only the internet usage but the sales tax HOLIDAY. Oh how I wish that Kinder was running for Governor instead of the two boobs we now have.
