Oklahoma governor to join Nixon at event; Mo GOP beefs about lack of e-mails
Jo Mannies

Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry is scheduled to join Attorney General Jay Nixon at a fundraiser later today in Springfield, Mo.

The event, which begins at 5:15 p.m. at the Teamsters Hall, is to raise money for Nixon’s bid for governor. It is hosted by his Greene County supporters, and is to be held prior to the Greene County Democratic Delegate Caucus.

MEANWHILE, in the latest installment of the state Capitol e-mail war, the Missouri Republican Party fired off a release this morning saying it “is considering its legal options over Nixon’s failure to comply with a Missouri Sunshine Law request seeking state emails he sent or received between August 1, 2007, and November 6, 2007.”

The investigative team set up by Nixon to probe accusations that Gov. Matt Blunt’s staff has been illegally destroying e-mails also is threatening to go to court any day over that $541,000 bill that Blunt’s lawyer says the team must pay before the governor’s office will turn over e-mails requested in 45 open-records requests.

Prepare for all those private lawyers, hired by all sides, to begin logging big bills.
