Ronnie White toasts Wright-Jones’ Senate bid
Rodney Hubbard had his hip-hop fundraiser in December, with guests including the St. Lunatics and Jibbs.
Tomorrow, Hubbard’s opponent is hoping to bring out some political bling of her own.
Robin Wright-Jones will hold a fundraiser Tuesday organized by former State Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronnie White, the first African-American to sit on the state’s highest court.
The host committee also includes Luther Boykins; 21st Ward Committeeman Arthur “Chink” Washington; 2nd Ward Committeewoman Mattie Moore; State Rep. Jeanette Mott Oxford; State Rep. Mike Vogt; State Sen. Joan Bray; State Sen. Rita Days and Jerryl Christmas, an aide to Claire McCaskill.
Teachers’ union president Mary Armstrong is also an organizer - which makes senses given Hubbard’s support of charter schools - as is Maida Coleman, who currently holds the state senate seat sought by Hubbard and Wright-Jones.
The event will be at McGurk’s in Soulard, run by White’s law partner, Jim Holloran. Will there be any leftover green beer from tonight’s St. Pat’s day festivities?
