Ashcroft endorses Cunningham’s State Senate bid

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

State Rep. Jane Cunninghams bid for State Senate has scored the endorsement of one of Missouri’s most well-known Republicans: John Ashcroft.

Ashcroft, a former everything - U.S. Attorney General, state attorney general, state auditor, governor, U.S. Senator - said in a statement released by the Cunningham campaign that “Jane has my enthusiastic support.”

“I wholeheartedly endorse Jane Cunningham for the Missouri State Senate,” Ashcroft said. “I have known Jane, and her husband Gary, for thirty years.”

Ashcroft, according to the release, will headline a June campaign event for Cunningham.

A former Ladue School Board member, Cunningham, 61, is running for the seat held by State Sen. John Loudon. She’ll face two Republicans in the primary: Loudon’s wife, Gina, and State Rep. Neal St. Onge.

I wouldn’t count St.Onge out… And Gina with her funding from the adult industry, and with John changing his votes to get some more strippers who knows what could happen. Larry Flint could drop 100,000 one dollar bills into her lap

Maybe he can sing a song there. That would be a huge hit!

John Ashcroft’s enthusiastic pushing of the “war on drugs” included sending federal agents to shut down medical marijuana operations that were in compliance with state laws. And this war has continued since Ashcroft’s departure, with Missouri’s draconian laws providing for up to 7 years in prison for the offense of “growing your own” less than 5 grams. I haven’t seen pot since college, but back then, 5 grams would have cost about twenty bucks. An endorsement by Ashcroft, who seems bent on pushing his Assembly of God moral doctrine on everyone by means of government power, is enough for me to vote for somebody else.

Nick you said the same thing last week for Cunningham kicking the PROMO kids out… Rep. Oxford then appologized to Cunningham (with class for her press conference and not hearing both sides of the story). Get off the bashing already. We know your not voting for Cunningham so don’t act like this changed you mind. I don’t like any of them personally but can’t stand when people find a new reason so say “This is why I’m not voting for them” every day.

Here go ahead and read up on smarmy Gina and her morals

Rednun,
President Hillary had the thing wrapped up on Super Tuesday, too.

tRush, think before you post. I didn’t say “the same thing” last week. Why would I have brought up Ashcroft when he hadn’t yet been involved here? So Loudon got a contribution from a lobbyist for the strip clubs … big deal. Legislators get money from all over the place. For example, here’s a couple of questions about Cunningham’s latest disclosure:

* Why did Cunningham receive over $28,000 from eight different Republican campaign committees in St. Charles? This is more than half her contributions during this period. Will Cunningham be doing the bidding of St. Charles county at the expense of her own district?

* Why did Cunningham receive $2,600 from associates of real estate development law firm Stone, Leyton, and Gershman, and $3,375 in contributions from associates of Drury hotels? Will Cunningham be doing the bidding of developers at the expense of her own constituents?

Nick read the whole sentance before you post. My comment, “Nick you said the same thing last week for Cunningham kicking the PROMO kids out” clearly refers to the fact that your little weekly
“vote for somebody else” thing gets old.

*Why did Loudon recieve $5000 from St.Joseph, $5000 from Ava Mo, $5000 from St.Charles, $5000 from Farmington? Will Cunningham be doing the bidding of St. Charles county and outstate at the expense of her own district? haha

*Why did Gina recieve 3,375 in contributions from associates of Drury hotels? Or over 3500 form Home Builders and developers including Vantage and McBride and Sons? Will Cunningham be doing the bidding of developers at the expense of her own constituents?
