President George W. Bush’s press secretary, Dana Perino, told reporters at the White House this afternoon that “the President will travel to St. Louis, Missouri this Friday; the topic will be on the economy…”

Details, such as time and location, will come later, she said.

Here’s the wire service account:

“WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush will visit St. Louis on Friday to deliver remarks on economy.

“The White House did not immediately provide details about where and when the speech would be held.

“Bush last traveled to Missouri in February, when he visited Kansas City to press Congress to boost the sagging economy with a plan of tax rebates.”

My only comment is that the position of president should be respected. People respect the pope and line the streets to see him, even if they are not catholic….

If he’s going to boost the economy he needs to get the price of gas down to about $2.00 a gal

“Jennifer” = Official White House Advance Hack. They usually arrive around the same time as the Secret Service.

That’s awesome…G Dub coming to town to talk about the economy so he can jack up the already jacked up traffic…Sweet…we can sit in our cars an extra hour of the day listening to his lame duck lip service including ideas to spend the rebate checks that were electronically deposited today. At only $3.89 a gallon I love just sitting around burning gas thinking of ways to spend my $600….hopefully it’s hot and I have to crank my AC.

Hmm…I think I’ll use my $$ to fly to Mexico where I can get some value out of my discretionary income. Come to think of it…isn’t that G Dub’s economic policy…invest in other countries? I’m surely no economist but is this similiar to Ole’ Dirty G H Dub’s “trickle down” economy? Knowledge is power…if the President and/or a Politician said it, or you read it on the internet, it must be true!

Jenn thats a twisted statement that your family has profited so much with all the people who have died in the war..was that a joke or just a demented statement?

Jennifer et al,

When did George decide to ruin your lives? Maybe you could tell us all when exactly Bush made the decision to close the Western Union. And, Gabe, when did George decide to put you out of work? I think we’d all be a bit better off if we thought for a minute about how and why certain things happen. Just because you think it’s the president’s job to find you a job, give you a raise, tell the gas station what to charge you for fuel, tell the grocery store at what price they can sell milk, doesn’t mean that when you lose your job, lose out on a raise, and are unhappy with the price of milk and gas that it’s his fault.

I have it on good authority that Barack has promised to make Western Union stay in St. Louis, force somebody to give Gabe a job for twice what (s)he was making before, stop the Indians and Chinese from eating higher protein diets and consuming the fuel that is our birthright, and force people to stop succeeding so that we might erase this income inequality that the NY Times has been telling me about.

Are you guys the same ones that are going to protest in Denver in August ? I told you Democrats love to protest. Rush Limbaugh is right as usual.
