Bush returning to St. Louis, with the economy on his mind
President George W. Bush’s press secretary, Dana Perino, told reporters at the White House this afternoon that “the President will travel to St. Louis, Missouri this Friday; the topic will be on the economy…”
Details, such as time and location, will come later, she said.
Here’s the wire service account:
“WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush will visit St. Louis on Friday to deliver remarks on economy.
“The White House did not immediately provide details about where and when the speech would be held.
“Bush last traveled to Missouri in February, when he visited Kansas City to press Congress to boost the sagging economy with a plan of tax rebates.”

“Meanwhile, the military death toll during the NON-warring years (Clinton administration) still exceeds the military death toll under the Bush administration, during a time of war.

I refer you to the following link: http://rodhafemeister.wordpress.com/category/military/
To summarize quickly, according Rod Haefmeister:
“Here’s the truth: According to the Pentagon’s official figures, 7,500 active duty service members died between 1993 and 2000, the eight years of the Bill Clinton administration. During the first six years of the George W. Bush administration, 2001 through 2006, 8,989 active duty service members died — 1,489 more than under Clinton, even though the Bush total covers two fewer years.”
Also, you forget that in the Clinton years, the was the war in Kosovo and Serbia, not to mention our various support actions via NATO. Plus you are not distinguishing between combat related fatalities and fatalities that occur due to training exercises (ie the infamous BlackHawk helicopter crashes prior to their deployment).
Lastly, Bush isn’t done yet.
