Fox still a player
Some Democrats were privately raising their eyebrows over U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof’s March 31 campaign donation of $1,350 from longtime GOP benefactor Sam Fox, who’s now the U.S. ambassador to Belgium.
Is it legal for an ambassador, a nonpartisan post (although often filled by political donors), to make a campaign contribution?
Yes, said a spokesman Wednesday for the Federal Election Commission. Such contributions are common, the spokesman added.
