Gephardt’s alter-ego: The caped crusader?

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

At Saturday night’s Jefferson-Jackson dinner, honoree Dick Gephardt confessed to having a face that many Americans know - though they are sometimes not quite sure from where.

Gephardt acknowledged he has been mistaken for the weather man, and even Dan Quayle.

The most recent mix-up, Gephardt told the crowd at the state Democratic Party’s annual gala, came at the Atlanta airport, after a security agent began staring quizzically at the former presidential candidate.

“I’ve been trying to remember who you are,” the agent told Gephardt. “And I finally remembered.”

“I said, Who am I?” Gephardt replied.

“She said, ‘You played Batman in the last Batman movie,’” Gephardt recalled.

My guess is that instead of confusing Gephardt with Christian Bale — the 34-year-old actor who is the latest to portray the mythical Gotham defender — the airport worker probably mistook Gephardt for Adam West, who starred in the original Batman movie in 1966.

West, 79, is closer to a contemporary of Gephardt, 67, and shares more than a passing resemblance to the retired congressman.

I don’t see ANY rsesemblance! I think he fabricated the whole story just to have something to talk about–poor choice of conversation, I must say.

How old was the airport worker, 19?

To them everybody over 21 looks the same–old.

What worthless drivel this is.

The Post-Dispatch actually supplies you with an office?

I remember when I saw Bush at the airport one time and he was having trouble getting on the flight he wanted, before he was president, so he went up to the front of the line and said in a crabby way to the flight attendant, “do you know who I am”?; so the flight attendant said “of course I’ll help you sir, just a second”, and she turned to the rest of the people in the line and said, “this man is lost; do any of you know who he is?”.
or was it Reagan? or Akin? whoops, not going to pick on or tease my honorable opponent; just going to beat him.

That’s funny, Bill, I heard that joke somewhere else and it is quite hilarious!

Dick Gephardt’s real alter-ego is being a paid schill for the Turkish Government. Gephardt, on contract with DLA/Piper - a multi-million dollar pr firm on the payroll of the Turkish government to the tune of $1.7 million a year - most recently worked to block legislation which would honor the memory of the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide from 1915-1923. All of which makes him a far cry from the mythical caped crusader for justice. For more info on Turkey’s strong-arming tactics on Congress, visit: http://www.endthegagrule.com
