Hulshof scores the support of 67 state lawmakers

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Kenny Hulshof’s campaign just released a list of more than 60 Republican lawmakers that are supporting his bid for governor.

Hulshof’s campaign contends that the list represents 65 percent of GOP members in the House, though we haven’t done the math. The endorsement roster does name 67 legislators in both houses, including Speaker Rod Jetton; Reps. Bob Onder and Chuck Portwood; and Sens. Jason Crowell and Delbert Scott.

All of the names, too numerous to list in this space, can be found by clicking here.

Going public with so many endorsements at once is an interesting play for Hulshof, who - despite being in Washington the last dozen years - is already viewed by many as favored by the state’s Republican elite.

Today’s announcement, it seems, could be an attempt to gain an early - and sturdy - foothold as the establishment candidate.

There’s all the big money-raisers. He’s going to have Steelman & Nixon whipped when it comes to bringing in the bucks… and the votes.

Of course Hulshof will lead in money raised: he sold his soul to the GOP facist corporate devils while in DC. Nixon will win.

I’m anxious to hear what comes out of Jetton’s orifice during Governor Nixon’s inaugural address.

Hulshof for governor, Onder for 9th district congress. The Republicans have some outstanding candidates this year - and that’s what it takes to win!

Steelman has never been the “establishment’s” candidate and never will. That’s why she poles so well with the unaffiliated and the moderate wing of both the republican and democrat parties. A wing-nut she is NOT.

I am confused. I thought that Kenny said he was the guy who was going to go to Jeff City and change the way government is run…then he puts the Speaker on his payroll who then coerces Reps and Sens who want bills passed to endorse Kenny. What a change. Legislators all have their races to run. Let’s see who all of MRB’s county coordinators work for. I am hearing that these folks are heading to Steelman in droves, 60 to 70 % at least will go that way. They know that they can’t sell their counties on Kenny vs. Jay. Congress approval rating is 19%. Jay is over 50%. And who are these people who think that Kenny will raise money. Even Bob Novak last week noted that Kenny’s fundraising prowess is weak.

Wow! Hulsfhof is actually bragging about Portwood’s endorsement? He won’t get any votes in the neighborhood Portwood mowed down in his drunken driving rampage a few years ago.

Kenny is sinking fast!
