Piercings “painful” for Rep. Jane Cunningham

State Rep. Jane Cunningham of Chesterfield is coming under fire for her alleged shabby treatment of gay and lesbian students who were in the Capitol last week to lobby for an anti-bullying bill. According to the students, 16-year-old Desiree Bain and 19-year-old Austyn Langston, they were kicked out of Cunningham’s office because of their appearance. Both Bain, a lesbian, and Langston, a bisexual, have multiple piercings. Langston also has purple hair.

“We were polite,” Bain says. “We were introducing ourselves and in the middle of saying my name and she told us to get out. She told us we were making her physically ill to look at. She said she didnt understand why we didn’t hate ourselves.”

Cunningham said today that she doesn’t deny asking the students to leave. And she admits that she found “their appearance very painful to look at.” But Cunningham says she only asked the students to leave because they weren’t her constituents. Both Bain and Langston are from Kansas City. Cunningham says she asked them to sign in and they represented that they were her constituents.

“They told us they were constituents,” she said. “They got in here under false pretenses.”

Not so, say both Bain and Langston. They say they told Cunningham they were from Kansas City.

“She told us we couldn’t be in her office because she was offended by us,” Langston said.

The students were in the Capitol on Wednesday to lobby for an anti-bullying bill being sponsored by Rep. Sara Lampe of Springfield. The bill would alter a law supported by Cunningham that passed two years ago which required schools to develop anti-bullying policies. Lampe wants to see the law specifically address bullying against students because of sexual orientation.

Langston and Bain said they went to see Cunningham because of her position as chairwoman of the House Elementary and Secondary Education Committee.

This is not the first time Cunningham has made a name for herself when dealing with gay and lesbian issues. In 2003, she accused former Kirkwood High School principal Franklin S. McCallie of rallying St. Louis County voters to vote against Christian candidates. McCallie was testifying in favor of a similar bill at that time.

Cunningham is also the sponsor of the Emily Brooker Intellectual Diversity Act which aims to hold universities accountable for allowing students to hold diverse opinions.

Good for you, Centrist, you cheer State Representative Jane for having the courage to kick pierced teens with dyed hair out of her office because they’re gross to look at.

I think you should take it even further!

Fat people should be kicked out too, especially if they’re women. If they’re men, who cares?

Old people who don’t have the decency to love themselves and dye their hair and shoot botox and get facelifts should also be kicked out of her office.

Let’s not forget the cripples, especially if they don’t have any limbs, can you think of anything more disgusting than that?

And if the constituent happens to be stupid enough to wear a Jewish star, they can only stay if they convert on the spot and take the love of Christ into their heart.

I’m being facetious. You’re not. Ass.

A question, Centrist—to the center of whom: Attila the Hun and James Dobson? Sheeeeesh.

Now, to the smarmy Jane-woman. I’m inclined to believe the students, and disinclined to believe the smarmy Jane-woman spin. Her behaviour is unacceptable given her committee assignment and position as chair. Her behaviour is unacceptable as a supposed “christian.” Her phobic behaviour is unacceptable from someone deemed to be rational and fit to hold public office.

I shall do something I’ve never done before: contribute to Republicans…namely her opponents in the 7th district Republican primary. She is truly someone who needs to be “retired” from public office, just as her husband will be come next Jan. 20th.

By the way, Gary, how are all those Gulf Coast logistics coming? Heckuva job, there!

As far as the HONESTY of Rep, Cunningham, on one of her campaign pieces ,she has stated that she is an advisor to the US Secretary of Education. Upon calling the Department of Education and asking of Rep. Cunninghams claim, they toltally DO NOT KNOW HER!!! Rep. Cunningham has time and time again used names of people that she said have endorsed her and many times she had done this WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT OR KNOWLEDGE!!!
Is this the type of person we want in the STATE SENATE. Her slogan could be . . . . .

A LEADERSHIP BUILT ON LIES!!!!

A CENTRIST,

IT IS NEVER APPROPRIATE TO MISTREAT ANYONE BECAUSE OF THEIR APPEARANCE OR OTHERWISE!!!

Nor is it okay to mistreat someone because they are gay, no more than it would be appropriate to mistreat someone for any other reason that we learn as Christians is sin. My God, does any of these ones such as A CENTRIST and Cunningham truly understand why God offered Christ up to be our one last ever needed sacrifice. Who did God do this for? Wasn’t it for these children? And, they were treated this way by one who call themselve a Christian?

So all of you lefties would sit and listen to people who chose to appear in a manner that is repulsive to you? Yeah, right (or left). You are all full of it. You wouldnt sit and listen to conservatives dressed in a manner you found appalling, you would insult them and tell them to leave. Maybe if they had come dressed in a manner fitting the state capitol, they would have been treated better. Would any of you show up to a job interview looking like what the teens are described as? Not for any professional job you wouldnt.

They weren’t asking Rep. Cunningham for a job. They were at the Capitol to talk to the Education Chairwoman about education issues.

Well. . .just think what would have happened if some disabled veterans would have dropped by the good representative’s office. . .

We must not risk grossing out the powdered, likely pierced ears, and teased up/dyed hairdo of a Republican who views public office as class entitlement.
