Public-employees union endorses Page

Speaking of state Rep. Sam Page (see post below on the man he hopes to replace, Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder):

Communication Workers of America, Local 6355, which represents more than 7,000 public-sector employees in Missouri — including the Department of Social Services and the Department of Health and Senior Services — announced today that it is endorsing Page, D-Creve Coeur, for lieutenant governor.

In a statement, local vice president Linda Martin said,  “We in Social Services are witness to the daily sufferings of Missourians from the Blunt-Kinder Medicaid cuts three years ago.  We have seen enough.

“We know it is time Missouri headed in a new direction…”

Page, she said, “has shown as a state representative and as a doctor, that he understands the importance of affordable health care.  We know that as Lt. Governor, he will fight to bring affordable healthcare to all Missourians.”

Evidently Page has shown the public employee unions that he is willing to back endless expansion of the public payroll. This endorsement by the union is yet another reason to vote for Kinder.

Why am I voting for Page? One phrase sums it up all too well–”the Blunt-Kinder Medicaid cuts” three years ago. Enough said.

Nick,
If the fact that a union of social workers who have to deal with the negative consequences of the Blunt/Kinder medicaid cuts is the best reason you have to vote for Kinder then you need a new candidate. Kinder needs to be shown for what he is, Blunt’s sidekick, and that won’t play well in Missouri.

Mike Carter, the leading candidate for Missouri’s Lt. Gov, is the only candidate that has the real estate expertise to help fight the Blunt/Kinder power grab of the Missouri Housing and Development Commission (MHDC). Mike Carter has helped many many first time buyers get in a home with the help of MHDC programs such as down payment asistance and reduced interest rates. He knows first hand the importance of such programs.

The economony (#1 in voter’s minds) and, by extension, Missouri’s housing woes need an expert in real estate, not a doctor. For most, a voter’s home is her/his greatest investment.

Respectfully,
