Skelton goes for Clinton — puts Mo’s superdelegates in deadlock
U.S. Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Lexington, is now in Sen. Hillary Clinton’s corner for president.
Skelton has been one of Missouri’s seven neutral superdelegates. He told the Associated Press that he’s supporting Clinton, D-N.Y., ”because of her support in rural America, her commitment to national security and her dedication to U.S. troops.”
Among Missouri’s superdelegates, Skelton’s decision makes it 5-5 between Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., with 6 superdelegates still uncommitted.
The AP notes that Skelton’s decision means a 2-2 split among Missouri’s Democratic members of the U.S. House. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Kansas City, earlier endorsed Clinton. Meanwhile, on this side of the state, Reps. William Lacy Clay and Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, have endorsed Obama.

I WANT TO FIX HILLARY CLINTON FOR STAYING WITH BILL WHEN SHE SHOULD HAVE DIVORCED HIM OVER:
1. HIS ANTIMASTURBATION
2. HIS CHEATING ADULTERY
ALSO IM AGAINST HER NOT LISTENING TO ME ABOUT VOTING AGAINST THE ANTI POKER BILL (PHONE CALLS, LETTERS) AND RECEIVING FUNDING FROM HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY OVERCHARGING AND AGE DISCRIMINATING. I ALSO BELIEVE LIKE JOE LIEBERMAN THAT BILL CLINTON SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMPEACHED AFTER ILLEGALLY CHEATING ON HIS WIFE.
What exactly has she done for rural America above and beyond Barack Obama or any other democratic member of the U.S. Senate?
I believe his view is that she has provided rural america with an alternative to voting for an African American candidate (or John McCain) by being a white democrat.
On behalf of Missouri Women’s Council for Hillary I thank you Congressman Skelton for your wise decision in choosing Hilary Rodham Clinton as your choice. AS for some of the above comments ignorance seems abundant to some.
What is even more ignorant is someone posting the #4 comment perpetrating that they represent the Missouri Women’s Council with the failure to post their real name and title.
Penelope, can you explain how choosing a candidate who is not an African American, but has the same policy positions is racist?
And you are Who D. Walker to ? I am on Hillary’s Women’s Council and its a long long list again you are?
Latin war-monger dude, it’s the only way I can figure Ike would pick someone that is LOSING in the quest for the nomination. Just the kind of mischief with the so-called “Super” delegates that is going to bring the dreams of Rush Limbaugh and others to fruition in Denver this summer. And #4, if you’re going to speak on behalf of a group, they’d probably prefer if you’d keep it positive (or maybe that’s just the way you Rodhamites roll).
I saw the list of Missouri Women’s Council for Hillary. I believe this council believes that being a woman and being African-American are mutually exclusive. At least that’s my impression since the original list did not have a single African-American. I’m curious to know if they recruited any tokens since that first, obvious criticism of their group was launched.
Penelope, it couldnt be that he is bothered by Obamessiah’s relationship with unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers? Or his ties to money man Rezko? Or his abilitiy to set in church for 20 years and not be influenced by his black liberation theology preacher? The ONLY reason to support Hillary over Obamessiah is race? Doesnt that make Obamessiah supporters sexist?
Now to clear up some other issues, Rush didnt call for riots in Denver, a group of democrats called Recreate 68 have already planned to riot like they did in 68.
