Town hall session on illegal immigration set for Ballwin

Chris Howard, a Republican candidate for the Missouri House’s 88th District, is hosting a town-hall meeting Thursday night “to discuss illegal immigration.”

The two-hour event begins at 7 p.m., and will be at The Pointe at Ballwin Commons, in Meeting Room A.  The address: #1 Ballwin Commons Circle.

The scheduled panelists include:

Phyllis Schlafly – Founder and President of Eagle Forum
–State Rep. Brian Nieves – Special Committee on Immigration

According to Howard’s release, “Each panelist will be given a period of time for presentation, which will be followed by a question/answer period by the attendees. Other panelists may be added prior to the event.”

Howard is among three Republicans seeking the seat now held by Neal St. Onge, who’s now running for the state Senate in the 7th District.

The other 88th District candidates, both Republicans, are: Shamed Dogan of Ballwin, and Andrew Koenig of Winchester.

No Democrats filed for the seat, so the victor in the Aug. 5 GOP primary is guaranteed to succeed St. Onge.

Chris Who?
According to PubDef, he has just $2,610 cash on hand compared to Koenig’s $4,812 and Dogan’s $16,952. You can’t win a West County State Rep race with that little money. He’ll be a distant second or third-place finisher.

It’s Chris Howard & he won’t be finishing a distant 2nd or 2rd. One certainly can win a West County State Rep race without having the most money & the proof will be in the pudding in this one. Grass roots efforts will sway the day in this election.

If you were to attend any of Chris’s event, you would know exactly who Chris Howard is and the vast difference in the candidates in this race. Chris is the only candidate who has actually held events, such as this town hall, for the people of the 88th district. In Neal St. Onge’s race for the House, his opponent raised twice as much as Neal and Neal still won it.

It should be the votes that actually puts someone in office and, my friend, Chris has the votes of the 88th district!

Integrity. Honesty. Sincerity. EXPERIENCE. Knowledge. Stewardship. These are all qualities we as a people need for our elected officials and, unfortunately, few can honestly claim them. Chris Howard, pal, PERSONIFIES these qualities. A dedicated family man with a strong value system that has the ability to follow through; that is Chris Howard. Chris is endorsed by many officials, current and past. Why? Because they believe in him and so do I. If one believes that only money is an indicator, then he or she is sadly mistaken. Go to a Howard event and come away in awe. I only wish he were running for President. Oh well – one step at a time, eh?

Come away in awe?! Please… the guy is a manager at Bed Bath and Beyond. One has to wonder why he is still in this race.

How exactly does Chris Howard personify experience? Experience at what? He’s never held an office and hasn’t worked in politics. Knowledge of what? He’s an assistant manager at Bed Bath and Beyond (not a manager as stated). This guy is the least qualified, and least capable of all the candidates. If people had faith in him they would donate, but they haven’t, so they don’t.

And Kurt Warner was just a stock boy, but took us to the Super Bowl….and John McCain was flying coach a few months back, because he didn’t have enough campaign money, but he’s got the Republican nomination for President….shall I go on?

Thank you for establishing the case that anyone who actually cares about what is going on in his community and has the nerve to step up and try to make a difference, can run for office and win!

NO way will I vote for Shamed Dogan…. this guy is way too sneaky, and he really needs to be honest and support the community. His lack of family values, and his personal attacks on his opponents (Both) is a real truth to his integrity.

I for one am happy to see someone hold public town hall meetings in my neighborhood on issues like this. It is great to see a candidate show the leadership to bring people together for public dialog. I hope it catches on. Also, if being a retail manager isn’t good enough for politics, I guess the founders who were farmers weren’t much good either. (We all know that’s a ridiculous idea.)

Name calling? Who’s using the names Bill? Shamed Dogan has nothing to do with this! How hypocritical is it to be on the defense of some phantom personal attack and then say that the guy has a “lack of family values”? How Christian is that to go after someone’s family values? Terrible and slanderous is what it is. You should be ashamed Chris.

How hasn’t Shamed Dogan been honest? I’d like to know and I think the people of Ballwin deserve to know. This is interesting to see the lengths that the Howard folks will go to hurt their opponent’s reputation.
