Cops like Colona for State House seat
Two days after throwing their support behind Jay Nixon for governor, city cops are weighing-in on a race closer to home.
The St. Louis Police Officers’ Association has announced the endorsement of attorney Mike Colona in the State House district that covers the city’s Tower Grove neighborhoods, a seat currently held by term-limited State Rep. Mike Daus.
“We proudly endorse Mike Colona’s campaign for state representative,” Sgt. Gary Wiegert, president of the association, said. “Mike’s years as an attorney have demonstrated his clear commitment to justice, law and order. We look forward to working with him to keep the people and property of Saint Louis safe.”
Though many city police officers tend to live a tad farther south — think Tom Villa country — Colona will need all the help he can get in a crowded Democratic field that includes Rob Stelzer, whose dad Jack is Eighth Ward Committeeman, attorney Joan Landmann and school activist Chad Beffa.

Colona

Great endorsement,
He must be against local control, the residency requirement and the civilian revue panel.
who gives a rats butt what the cops think .
they are the lowest thieving sleazebags on the face of the Earth
Most people don’t know this but STL cops and fire fighters don’t pay into social security. Mike has vowed to protect police and fire pensions, sommething the other candidates don’t want to talk about. Mike is a candidate that wants to work on issues and does not have a sense of entitlement. He’s got my vote!
