EdTube: Martin takes on the teachers’ union

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Ed Martin might not like to talk too much about the e-mail flap surrounding his former boss, but Gov. Matt Blunt’s erstwhile chief of staff has no shortage of outlets to vent his mostly conservative views.

The young Republican lawyer is a columnist for the Metro Sentinel, a small African-American weekly distributed in the city, and is a video commentator for PubDef, the blog run by Rodney Hubbard’s campaign manager, Antonio French.

Today’s installment at PubDef: Martin, a vocal critic of city schools, discusses the decision by educators at a St. Louis charter school to join the teachers’ union.

As you can imagine, Martin is not happy with the move.

But — agree or disagree with him — Martin’s camera presence (slightly unpolished, though sincere) makes us wonder whether he has a career among the punditocracy.

His lack of cogent thought and failure to take responsibility his actions make this “commentary” ironic.

Coincidence?Commentary on charter schools after the failure of one.Coming from a Republican, on a site ran by the Campaign Manager of alleged Democrat Hubbard. Who has the support of Slay allies Joyce & Daly. INTERESTING.

That didn’t take long.
This was posted on the Political Fix blog shortly after noon. It is now just after midnight and YouTube says the video has been removed. Hmmm…..

Why is this interesting? He makes no logical point nor offers any real evidence to support his position. Typical Ed Martin. This argument is as thin as vapor. I didn’t hear him ask the school administrator to refrain from interacting with the Missouri School Administrator’s Association. Why isn’t he equally appalled by this?

What’s telling about Ed Martin’s comments is the anti-union rhetoric that most polished Republicans try to avoid. He found the teachers impressive, caring and committed but had a problem when they sought job security. I hope the correction’s officers he deals while he’s incarcerated understand his conflicted views.

“Harumph! Harumph!!” That’s two “Harumphs” for Mr. Heins!

Martin, Blunt, and their merry band of crooksters have done far worse than use a state copier for campaign business which sent former GOP Attorney General Bill Webster to the federal pen. Every night, Martin prays the hard-drives were completely destroyed.

Who did destroy the records of the e-mails, at whose orders, and when were those orders issued?

I think its time that the Cole County Prosecuting Attorney convenes a grand jury and investigates these clowns for obstruction of justice, selling political favors and destruction of public property, for starters!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I always thought that pundits formed complete sentences.
