Emerson: Plumber more crucial than bashing Obama
U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Cape Girardeau, was on that Tuesday morning conference call with Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder and state GOP chairman Doug Russell, where they discussed the shortcomings of Democratic presidential frontrunner Barack Obama. (See Jake’s post below for Kinder’s take.)
But Emerson had to cut her participation short, when her plumber showed up.
She hastily explained to her GOP colleagues and the reporters on the call that her house was full of water. After briefly conferring with the plumber in the background, Emerson said, “I’ve got to go.”
We trust the repairs are now complete, and the congresswoman is once again on dry turf.
