Gephardt: Bush worst president. Ever

COLUMBIA — Retired U.S. Rep. Richard A. Gephardt touched off three standing ovations at the state Democratic Party’s convention Saturday as he ripped into the Republican occupying the White House.

George Bush is, by far, the worst person who’s ever been president of the United States,” said Gephardt, for 28 years D-St. Louis County, and who made two unsuccessful bids for the White House himself.

When he ran for president in 2004, Gephardt recalled, “I called (Bush) a ‘miserable failure…and some took umbrage.”

Now, Gephardt continued, “He has totally messed it up…even Republicans will agree that he messed it up.”

Gephardt then roared: “Gasoline is $4 a gallon, on its way to $8 a gallon, and this man sits there, clueless!”

Gephardt supports Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for president, but made clear in his speech that all Democrats must unite behind whoever gets the nomination.

He made no critical comments about her rival, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill. “I think she’s a great candidate and would make a great president…But I also believe we have two great candidates for president of the United States.”

“Some people say this primary has gone on too long, but I’m not one of them,” Gephardt said. Still, “when the primaries are done…this party has to come together and unify like it never has.”

Not only was it the truth but his delivery was superb. I remember his campaigns for Prez and all I can say if he had beeen this dynamic, we would not have had to worry about President Bush being the worst ever prsently but the FORMER bad Prez.

For all you repugs who want to rank Carter below Bush….he was the first President to try to do something about the energy crisis. He got legislation passed that started us on the road to energy independence, solar, wind, renewable fuels, alternative energy sources, higher mileage requirements, co-generation, etc. Of course when the Grand Oil Party came back in in 1981, all that was rolled back, solar panels removed from the White House, etc. You arrogant fools have been running this country the better part of the last forty years and have run us into a ditch. Your wild spending, sellouts to big business shipping jobs overseas, tax cuts for the very rich, macho war making, and incredible incompetence will soon get you blown away in a landslide of historic proportions, and none too soon. If you had any pride you would not contest this election, instead would apologize to the American people for what you’ve done to them and try to learn from the substantial amount of time you are going to be spending in the political wilderness.

Think|

I’m not partisan. I do love this country. I don’t hate President Bush, I just don’t care for his leadership. Ashcroft spent $8,000 government money to cover statues not a quality AG. Bush was on Vacation during Katrina not 9-11 that was when he continued to read a book after being told of an attack. Bush and Rumsfeld both knew the size of the army before invading Iraq. If the army is too small, where is the draft? Read about how oil is a commodity tied to the US dollar. I never insult people on this blog, unless I’ve been insulted first. So in the words of Robert Dole to a Dupont supporter during the 1992 Presidential campaign; “Crawl back in your cave!”

Republicans love to blame the messenger. And, even though they also love sending other people’s kids off to die in wars that they have no clue who will pay for, they can’t even decide whether Bush, with his profligate spending habits, is a “true conservative.” And, apparently they also fail to agree on who has really been the POTUS all these years, when anyone with half a brain knows that Dumbya has been the pawn of Dick “Deficits Don’t Matter” Cheney and his sidekick Rummy. Just something for you Republicans to think about while you wax paranoid about dark-skinned people and assorted others possibly getting something they didn’t work for, because we all know that Bush, Cheney and Co. have earned every penny they ever made.

Ya’all are stuck on stupid, that’s your problem, and so it’s no wonder you nominate and elect stupid people with stupid solutions for complex problems.

It doesn’t surprize me George still has his staunch supporters, many of them got richer during the last 7 years. I remember what my mom said when Nixon was forced out of office. “Hasn’t he been through enough? Why can’t they leave him alone.” His crimes were no where near as extreme as our current pres. which brings me to my point: Just as Nixon, and Capone were brought to justice on lesser crimes, can’t our current pres. be indicted for one of his lesser immoral screwups; his role in outing V. Plane, for instance? We should get him out through the back door. Ignore his corrupt, self serving war, and other idiotic policies, his destruction of the constitution, (and the Magna Carta) Have we forgotten? He still has his finger on the button. Let’s just get him out now; before he invades Iran or North Korea and kills us all.
