It’s official: Nixon alone in Dem primary
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Jay Nixon can start planning his victory party — for August, at least.
Secretary of State Robin Carnahan certified the primary ballot this week, tossing off the token opposition Nixon faced for the Democratic nomination for governor.
Democrat Daniel Carroll from Shelby County was disqualified on Tuesday; another contender, Christina Anderson from Springfield, was removed last month.
The official ballot also shed State Senate hopeful Connie Johnson, ruled ineligible by a judge, and Miss T. Gunn, a St. Louis Democrat vying to unseat State Rep. Jamilah Nasheed.

This is sad for the people in Missouri. I think that Jay Nixon has some terrible views. He will make a far worse governor than Blunt ever was, and that was pretty disappointing. I would have liked to see any of the others picked over him. His views on the barbaric death penalty in Missouri is an issue that is sure to addressed, not to mention the double standard of. Jay Nixon stands for the very thing that continues to hold back the growth of Missouri, I don’t see the situation here getting any better. How is it that Robin Carnahan has the power alone, to determine who runs for governor? Are we once again looking into the eye of privilege/favorism…which usually births corruption…as with GWB.
