St. Louis Alderwoman Lyda Krewson, D-28th Ward ward, will join city Treasurer Larry Williams and Tricia Roland-Hamilton, president of the Central West End Association, at an event Friday that will launch their “Real Change” campaign to discourage panhandling for money.
The event is slated for 11 a.m. Friday, at the corner of Maryland and Euclid avenues.
According to their release: “REAL CHANGE is an innovative program designed to discourage the random giving of money to panhandlers, while encouraging contributions to local service providers. The program is being launched in conjunction with the passage of an ordinance earlier this year restricting panhandling.”
