Latest Reed fundraiser to be a “Gast”
Jake Wagman
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Although Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reed represents the entire city, when it comes to raising cash, he prefers to keep it close to home.

Reed, who unseated former president Jim Shrewsbury in an upset victory last year, is still trying to recoup money he loaned the campaign.

Tonight, the owners of the St. Louis Gast Haus — located in the Lafayette Square neighborhood, which Reed represented as an alderman — are throwing Reed a fundraiser at their Deutsch-themed restaurant.

It’s the second fundraiser in recent months Reed has had in Lafayette Square - in March, he held a “jazz” event at Sqwires market and eatery.
