McCaskill-Colbert in 2012?

Many Missouri pundits have had fun mentioning Sen. Claire McCaskill as a possible vice presidential running mate to likely Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

But a news release sent out by McCaskilll today makes me think her time is four years away. McCaskill will be appearing on May 28 on the Colbert Report on the Comedy Channel. Missouri’s junior senator says she and her 19-year-old daughter enjoy watching Stephen Colbert make fun of the real news.

Remember, Colbert was briefly a presidential candidate in the South Carolina primary earlier this year. And he takes much credit for the “Colbert bump” which helped propel the Republican candidacy of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Is McCaskill seeking a bump for Obama, or might she be laying the groundwork for her own race to the White House? Perhaps McCaskill-Colbert in 2012? Or Colbert-McCaskill? Sharp of wit herself, McCaskill will be a good match for Colbert. (Though I’m sure Republicans will be using their Tivo in hopes she says something in jest that they can use against her later).

The show is May 28 at 10:30 central time on Comedy Channel.

Pathetic. This Colbert-(insert name of politician du jour) joke is so old I am about to puke.

I can’t wait until McCaskill is voted out of office. If Obama wants to lose the White House then he should put her on the ticket. She is one of the worst politicians in the country. What has she done since getting elected? How is Missouri better off?

McCaskill is about as worthless as Obama. She claims he’s shown such leadership, well, she’s shown about as much as he has…..NONE. She has also done about as much in the senate as Obama has, which is virtually nothing. She needs to get a new “hairdo”, that’s the CHANGE she needs!

I started a Draft Claire for Governor in which we had over 75 team captains statewide in 2003. She instead became a US Senator two years later. Claire McCaskill was a prosecutor in Kansas City, a single mom while serving as state representative for 3 terms and then a State Auditor. Her knowledge of local, state, and Federal levels of governments and how they work is extremely important. There has likely never been a vice presidential candidate which such a record of service.

She has become known as a center of the road legislator fighting for anti ear mark legislation and an accountability office for expenditures on the war. What she is most noticed for is that she has a pulse of the people that comes naturally and speaks out for the people when something is not in their best interest concerning government or important issues. Yes two inspiring candidates who bring out the best in people on the ticket sound real good.

The market has spoken; Colbert is funny. The voters have spoken: McCaskill is a better senator than cookie-cutter conservative Jim Talent. So what do the right wingers have left? Nothing but anger.
