This just in:

The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund,   a national political action committee that focuses on abortion issues,  announced today that it is endorsing state Treasurer Sarah Steelman, a Republican, for Missouri governor.

In a statement, Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser said:

“The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund is proud to endorse Sarah Steelman for Missouri Governor. From her pro-life leadership in the state Senate to her Life is Precious Initiative today, Sarah Steelman is truly dedicated to representing all Missouri citizens, born and unborn.

“Sarah is a passionate advocate for women and unborn children and we are pleased to support her candidacy for Missouri Governor.”

The group’s endorsements are posted on the website, www.sba-listcf.org, which it said “allows Susan B. Anthony List members to bundle contributions for endorsed candidates, access political updates about key political races, register to vote and engage in pro-life advocacy efforts.”

The group said it “supports pro-life female candidates, as well as pro-life male candidates who run against pro-choice female candidates.”

It claims “a nationwide network of over 145,000 Americans, residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics.”

“Susan B. Anthony List members are eager to support dedicated pro-life heroines when they need it most,” said Dannenfelser.

“The consequences of disengagement are dire. The lives of women and their unborn babies are on the line, and the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund is ready to defend them at the ballot box in Missouri and across the country.”

The group cited Steelman’s record in the Missouri Senate, where she “co-sponsored legislation to ban partial-birth abortion, sponsored the Adoption Awareness Law and sponsored legislation to create the Missouri Respect Life license plate. Her recently announced Life is Precious Initiative calls for a special session of the Missouri legislature to consider legislation to ban coercive abortion in Missouri. The initiative also calls for bans on sex-selection abortions and the abortions of unborn disabled children.”

Steelman is competing against U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof, R-Columbia, in the GOP primary on August 5.

The victor will likely Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon, a Democrat “who supports abortion rights,” the group said.

What a wonderful way to pick a Governor. . . Sarah is a woman, Kenny is a man with 100% pro-life voting record. Because Kenny is a man. . . we endorse the Steelman team.

What a way to reward a member of congress who stood with you on every vote!

The Steelmans and Kenny Holshof are pro-life, that’s great, just wait out the primary and endorse the one who wins.

I thought I’d call to find out why Steelman won out over Hulshof.
Turns out Steelman is a WOMAN and Hulshof is a MAN.
Well now that we’ve got that cleared up…………..

I think that a pro-life woman has a better understanding of this issue than a man could ever have. Sarah is the TRUE social and fiscal conservative in this election. Plus she is our only chance for a November victory, plain and simple.

George,

How much of Hulshof’s record have you followed? Or, let me guess, you’re one of the mindless flackies that a campaign will hire to beat the drum, no matter how asinine your statement may be? Sarah is the TRUE one-as if Kenny is a fake? Look at his record-after all, it’s a pretty long public record.

So, Kenny has a 100% rating…it seems as if he understands the issue pretty well. Has he actually been pregnant? No, but he has two daughters of his own and an idea of what his world would be like without them. He has been 100% consistent on life issues, unlike “Stowers” Steelman, who has taken campaign contributions from him and Stowers-associated entities which are not investment firms.

If you have two candidates that are both supposedly 100% (supposedly in Sarah’s case), then wouldn’t the best benefit to the pro-life movement in general be to stay out of the race until one has been chosen? I understand their point, but that’s the kind of junk that the liberals pull-don’t base the endorsement or choices on the issue, but on the random batch of chromosomes they were assigned at conception. If Kenny Hulshof was instead Kendra Hulshof, it wouldn’t affect the stances and would probably result in Hulshof being the endorsed candidate.

But, go ahead. Don’t let logic affect your shilling.
