New Hulshof ad stresses courtroom experience
Kenny Hulshof’s latest television spot shuns his Beltway experience in favor of the congressman’s previous career as a state and local prosecutor.
“Some candidates for governor got their training in the politics of Jefferson City,” says Hulshof, a thinly-veiled dig at Republican primary rival Sarah Steelman, a former state senator. “I got my training in a different place.”
The place: The courthouse, which serves as the backdrop for the ad.
Hulshof, seeking the GOP’s nomination for governor, worked for the prosecuting attorney and public defender in Cape Girardeau. Later, he joined the state Attorney General’s office, where he served under both William Webster and potential Democratic opponent Jay Nixon.
In the ad, Hulshof appears to be playing up his folksy demeanor, appealing to voters with an “every man” approach.
“I can’t promise you I will be perftect,” Hulshof says. “But I know there is a bright line between right and wrong.”

Really Kenny? A bright line” between right and wrong?
Where was that “bright line” when you ignored exculpatory evidence, and submitted hearsay evidence, in order to get a man convicted to life in prison? (Only by the grace of God did that conviction get overturned and that innocent man was later found NOT GUILTY when the case was presented by a prosecutor who found the “rule of law” to be more important than a political career.
The Citizens of Missouri have had it with those who are self-serving. When you ignore the law, in order to take away a man’s liberty, you are a criminal in my book. Touting your performance as a corrupt prosecutor is indicative of your failure to know the difference between right and wrong.
The only remedy to your corrupt antics is clear. STEELMAN FOR GOVERNOR!
