Paul allies have asked FBI to investigate Mo GOP

Political Fix just received a most intriguing e-mail, stating that “the FBI was mailed the first of many letters to come, requesting a formal investigation into the unethical and illegal practices of a faction of the Missouri Republican Party that have disenfranchised so many properly elected delegates by challenging them without basis….”

Claiming that the letter “was written by a former private investigator,” the anonymous e-mailer asserts that similar letters are being sent to other federal and state agencies.

Jared Craighead, Executive Director of the Missouri GOP will also receive his letter tomorrow, alerting him to the formal investigation,” the e-mailer said.

Now on Youtube, the author adds, is a recording of one of the credentials hearings that state GOP leaders recently held, as they sought to unseat some of the 300 or so suspected Ron Paul supporters elected as delegates to the state convention on May 30-June 1, or to the presidential convention in September.

Party leaders have made clear that all delegates must support the presumptive Republican nominee for president, Sen. John McCain.

It’s unclear what legal basis is being used in requesting the FBI probe, since political parties generally have been deemed private entities. They don’t get any federal money, although they must comply with some federal or state restrictions regarding their private donations and the type of allowed assistance to candidates.

Still, the investigation request — and the intriguing video — indicate that Paul’s posse of followers will fight on.  Could make the state convention in a couple weeks REAL interesting.

A NEW HOPE
We all have been living a nightmare. A vision D. Eisenhower warned of in his 1961 farewell address to the nation. In his address, Eisenhower warned of the corruption of our government, our society, and our culture by the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX. It seems that, as a nation, we have not listened. Eisenhower’s dire vision has become our reality. And from this fearful dream, this nation is waking. Our eyes are opening to the truth collectively for the first time. WE THE PEOPLE are finding that we have been subjugated, placated into ignorance and fear, lied to by the very people we have entrusted to preserve and protect our rights, liberties, and our constitution. Many will turn away in fear of truth and close their eyes once again. To open our eyes to this reality, is to also understand that we are all responsible for it as well. complacency and dependence upon the machine keeps THE PEOPLE in line because it is convenient and safe. We have sold our souls. We have as a nation let this happen to ourselves.
My heart breaks for the people of this nation. Our government wages war upon our freedoms, liberties, and our constitution. I watch our republic’s destruction, not to the sound of guns or bombs, but to the sound of thunderous applause of those held captive by terrified patriotic blindness, guided by the propaganda of fear, as we give our rights and even the lives of our fellow man for the profit of the corrupt. A fear that is erasing our great history of freedom and repeating itself 70 years later with another dictatorship of war, under the guise of homeland security and the protection of the people.
BUT THERE IS STILL HOPE.
With love and openness, we can overcome ignorance and fear. It is our right as the people, and my duty as a United States MARINE written into our constitution by our founding fathers, entrusted to us, by the people, to ensure that our liberty, freedom, and the constitution never again become the subjugation of the corruption that we have wrought upon ourselves. We must take back our country, and give it to the people. So let us open our hearts, take responsibility, and make our HOPE become our reality. Lets begin REVOLUTION. His name

Dr. Ron Paul

Political parties “don’t get federal money”? Where did you hear that? Who do you think paid for the state primaries? Who do you think is paying for the St. Paul Convention?

Jo Mannies has almost redeemed herself as an objective reporter in this report. I say “almost” because this is the reporter that mischaracterized Ron Paul supporters as “marching” into Kirkwood High School to their ultimate fate at the hands of the CD2 Gestapo. The fact is that no one was marching into Kirkwood. Mannies simply chose to dramatize the event for STL readers at Ron Paul supporters’ expense. Keep a watchful eye on this reporter. You don’t know what kind of spin she’ll put on a story in order to self-aggrandize herself over the truth.

Actually since these state Republican conventions’ main purpose are to elect National Delegates to the National Republican Convention, yes they do have standing.

The Republican National Convention is paid for by tax dollars, as a matter of fact, the US Government specifically gives money just for the Democrat and Republican National Conventions. In 2000, the Reform Party received a substantial amount just for its convention because it received “Minor” party status via Perot.

I am not sure if I see the logic in the Republicans trying to stop Ron Paul supporters from playing their role as delegates. From what I can tell only the Ron Paul supporters have had any energy in the Republican Party and by the looks of the last three US Representative elections that the Republicans lost, they are going to need every vote they can get.

While I did not vote for Ron Paul in the primary, if I had known about him sooner I probably would have. As a good Republican there is no way I could support McCain who I have heard voted for Gore and Lieberman in 2000.

The real shocker was the complete betrayal by Todd Akin.

If ever there was an obvious wolf in sheep’s clothing, it is Todd Akin.

As a constituent, I contacted him about the situation and he flat-out ignored me.

He lost three vote, for certain, that day–mine, my wife’s and my oldest daughters.

We had been long-time staunch advocates for Todd Akin. Now I would vote for a liberal democrat before I’d ever vote for that weasel again.

How ironic that the libertarian wing of the GOP, which theoretically opposes governmental intervention - especially that of the federal government, now calls upon federal government intervention to achieve its goals!

Sorry, ag, but the only problem with Jo’s piece is one small grammatical error: The state convention could be REALLY (not REAL) interesting. (It takes an adverb to modify an adjective like “interesting.”)

The GOP is NOT above state and federal election laws!

What’s next? Calling the FBI out on the Rotary Club?

I’m sure that the FBI was very nice when you called… the same as they are with the guys who call to say they saw Elvis at the 7-11

The author turned one letter written by one individual into “Paul allies have asked FBI to investigate Mo GOP”. In turn, St_Louis_Oracle turned Paul allies into the “libertarian wing of the GOP”.

How ironic that, in just a few sentences, one individual has become thousands of GOP members.

Thanks for recognizing us as Republicans. Perhaps you should remind Magee and Akin of that fact.

If she was one of the challenged delegates then she would understand how they put us in a cirlce trying to intimidate us. They could not show us who challenged us or even give a good reason we were challenged other then they “believed” that we supported Ron Paul, BEFORE the primaries, which meant to them that we were not faithful republicans. The last time I checked there is no law that says that you cannot support another republican BEFORE the primaries. Yes in Branson we have to vote for John McCain the 1st round but that doesn’t mean you have to vote for him in the big election. If thats the case then why even have an election just throw everyone off the ballot and then make John McCain the next Hitlar. What happened to choices? We have the choice to support the truth not just some lying polition. If you dont believe me look at McCain lie at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEtZlR3zp4c and if you support his 100yr war policy then leave your email address on a blog and I will give you my army equipment and I will pay for your flight to get to IRAQ. Oh the army is always taking volunteers!!!
