Powell campaign gets help from Arnold City Hall

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Arnold Mayor Mark Powell, a Democrat running for state treasurer, announced today he has new staffer - Arnold Councilwoman Joyce Deckman.

Deckman, whose late husband, Michael, was active in the auto workers’ union and worked as an aide to Dick Gephardt, will join the Powell campaign as head of volunteering and scheduling.

“Joyce’s commitment to the Democratic party, her vast volunteer and campaign experience as well as her dedication to labor makes her the ideal person for this job,” Powell wrote in a statement.

Powell, running a second time for treasurer, faces a tough fight for the nomination from a pair of local Democrats: Creve Coeur’s Andria Simckes and State Rep. Clint Zweifel from Florissant.
