Ron Paul heading to Branson to haunt Mo GOP
Missouri supporters of Ron Paul, the Republican presidential contender who’s declining to quit despite John McCain’s lock on the nomination, are circulating his video announcement that he’s heading to Branson for a rally on May 30.
That’s the night before the state Republican Party convention — also slated for Branson.
(A hat tip to Jason Rosenbaum at the Columbia Tribune, for first reporting Paul’s planned stop.)
Party leaders have been trying for weeks to weed out the hundreds of pro-Paul delegates elected at local and regional caucuses, to prevent them from being seated at the state convention. The aim is to avoid a McCain-Paul floor fight.
But Paul’s presence the night before could complicate matters.
According to his Web site, Paul will headline a 7 p.m. “Freedom Rally” at Branson’s Tri-Lakes Center, 2527 State Highway 248.

Mrs. Davis, if you had bothered to spend any time in this forum prior to now, or in regard to any post OTHER than those about Ron Paul, I think you’d know me to be a STAUNCH conservative.
But I realize that Ron Paul is UNELECTABLE!
Why don’t you?
If you truly think that “the people” will elect the smartest, brightest, most educated person for the job, they would have elected Alan Keyes years ago!
The problem wasn’t his message … the problem was that he was just unelectable. Just like your choice, Ron Paul. Just like my choice, Fred Thompson. Just like Gov. Blunt’s choice, Mitt Romney.
Do you see a pattern, here? McCain might not be all the things we want wrapped up in a conservative package, but he’s far more electable, and he is FAR more conservative on every issue than Obama or Clinton.
To suggest that I’m neither a conservative nor a real republican simply because I don’t agree with you is a bit hypocritical, don’t you think?
Mr. Republican,
I guess the days when Republicans could be considered to be gentlemen are long passed based upon the tone and wording of your posts. Paultards? Really? How unoriginal. And electability sir, sorry you are mistaken as Dr. Paul was the only Republican candidate who could have won the general election. The thing is that to do so a public rejection of many of the policies of the last six years would have been required and the Republican party would rather lose at the voting booth than allow that to happen. That is why Ron Paul was so vigorously opposed by his own party.
Here is the future, Mr. Republican. This November will be a bloodbath with Republicans not only losing the Whitehouse but being reduced to tiny minorities in both houses of Congress. This will happen at least in part because the Republican party leadership has fully turned against its base and has no real support outside the corruption of the beltway. Hopefully, after that loss the Neocons will go back to the Democratic party, the remaining current party leadership will be deposed, and we can rebuild the house that Reagan built.
Again Mr. Republican, I have been here before today, I just read more the responded. And To say that Blunt supporting Romney some how makes Romney conservative is absurd! Romney supported socialized health care in MA! With MANDATED paying for it or else! You are not as conservative as you claim to be, and that it clear. It is not because you disagree with me that I state that. I started out supporting Romney, then I saw his record, then I looked at all their records. This was the FIRST time I did not just vote straight party line without checking out the people. I used to believe that all Republicans were the same, good, moral people that loved the rule of law by the Constitution. Boy did I have a rude awakening last year! This is not the country that my ancestors fought and died for, we have something else, and I do not like it! Many Americans do not like it! Have you seen the National Committee blog lately? People are bailing ship because it is sinking. The least you could do is not attack us, like the rest of the GOP is doing, when we are trying to bail out water and save the ship!
As soon as Jim the republican uttered the word “Paultard” he lost any credibility about being the “Staunch conservative” he claims to be….he is “more of the same”.
I am excited! People keep calling the Ron Paul supporters all sorts of names, but the truth is we know more about how the political system works and how our founding fathers wanted our country more than any other supporters. We are very sane and we are joining forces for a cause. A cause that is more important than so many other things that are talked about; all of these things that are so bad in our country is because we will not do as we were instructed by our founding fathers who made the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the ways to have a good country. We are going to make a change and we are not going away. We are a bigger group than anyone realizes and we are all teaming up for the Love of a Revolution and the facts of Ron Paul’s thinking in peace, strength, integrity, and pride. Never give up~With all we do do in love, peace, and purpose.
“Weed out the Ron Paul delegates”? Why bother having primaries if delegates are decided at the conventions and everyone has to vote how they’re told to? Welsomce to the USSR.Peace, prosperity, and Paul 2008!
“Party leaders have been trying for weeks to weed out the hundreds of pro-Paul delegates elected at local and regional caucuses, to prevent them from being seated at the state convention”
Because that is what a Democratic Republic is all about, having the people with power bulldoze everyone’s voice except the ones that will help them sustain and gain more power over our lives, our money, and our rights.
Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

The collapsing dollar, falling housing market, the subprime mortgage and growing credit crisis and stock market weakness are all a result of earlier Federal Reserve actions designed to maximize Wall Street and banking profits at the expense of productive, working Americans.
