Spend those rebates
President Bush is hitting hard on the “pro-growth economic package.” He says consumption and spending is the key. He says this isn’t another one of those “the check is in the mail deal.”
“You’re going to get some money. Turns out it’s your own money, but you’re going to get it back.”
Good policy “recognizing that we’re going to recover. This is to help stimulate that recovery. There’s no better way to stimulate consumption than to give you your own money back.”
Business incentives will kick in, too, he said. He’s trying to allay fears.
“I know it’s tough times… but this economy is going to come on. I’m confident it will.”
