Street would honor former School Board head
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
The Board of Aldermen is poised to rename a street in honor of former School Board president Harold Brewster, who died last month.
This morning at City Hall, 19th Ward Alderman Marlene Davis — a former School Board member who served with Brewster — introduced a bill dedicating the intersection of Webster and Cass Avenues as “Harold Brewster Place.”
The crossing is in front of Vashon High, where Brewster is a graduate.
Brewster, who was an ordained minister, served on the school board from 1997 to 2003, a time of intense infighting on the board. Previously, Brewster worked for the city and was a campaign aide for U.S. Rep. Lacy Clay.
Brewster died in April at age 73
