What’s the filibuster connection? Maybe it’s the press …
So all day long, various reporters have been trying to connect the dots on the various folks participating — some briefly — in the filibuster against the village law repeal. The connection to Speaker of the House Rod Jetton is obvious for some of the participants, particularly Sen. Jason Crowell and Sen. Luann Ridgeway. Whether there is a Jetton connection to Sen. Chris Koster and Sen. Victor Callahan is tougher to figure. Perhaps the next quarterly Missouri Ethics Commission filings will give a clue. (That’s what many senators are predicting). “Follow the money,” said Sen. John Griesheimer, R-Washington.
But just for fun, I did a search of old columns I wrote and found one here that mentioned Crowell, Graham and Koster all together. Just a coincidence, though the message of the column is interesting considering the allegation made by Majority Floor Leader Charlie Shields, R-St. Joseph, and Griesheimer, that the filibuster discussion is insincere.
