Three high-profile Missouri Democratic superdelegates — previously uncommitted — announced tonight they are now behind Barack Obama as he declares himself the party’s nominee. Barack Obama

Attorney general and candidate for governor Jay Nixon, Secretary of State Robin Carnahan and party Chairman John Temporiti all came out for Obama tonight.

Hillary Clinton “ran a strong campaign and she empowered millions of Americans to reach for their dreams,” Nixon said in a statement released by the state party. “But after eight years of George W. Bush, Sen. Obama is the right candidate to bring about the change our country so badly needs.”

Thanks to the super delegates who have remained in contact with reality and decided to support out next president, Barack Obama. No one who is really a Democrat wants to see John McCain have the opportunity to continue the disastrous Bush policies, so lets all work together to make a new day begin for America. We must give President Obama a supportive Democratic House and Senate to help him make the changes we need.

How courageous of these two to finally take a stand. Sen. McCaskill and others who decided one way or another and made it public are to be commended for standing up for who and what they felt was right. That is leadership.

Speaking of Claire McCaskil:

I cannot begin to express the respect that I have for Claire McCaskil. I at one time had judged her completely incorrect during her run for Governor. What a mistake on my part.

After witnessing her in Congress on C-Span, then after seeing how courageous she was in coming out early on in support of Obama, then after learning about how sincere and genuine her concerns are in truly helping society, making a positive difference in lives regardless of sex, race or social standing regarding ones who get caught up in the criminal system due to drug use, her common sense and decency approach in treating the problem more so than criminalizing it, I am genuinely in awe of her sincere concern for people and her common sense approach to what is most beneficial to our society.

It takes a pretty clean, honorable and non-judgmental heart to take such stands.

Senator McCaskil is a great human being and an honorable politician. We need more like her in both parties.

Furthermore, it appears that she has raised one heck of a daughter, the one who encouraged her to go all out for Obama.

I hope that Sen. McCaskil keep her clean heart and have great success in office and hopefully some of her goodness will rub off on others in office everywhere.
