Jetton joining Onder as campaign consultant
Outgoing state House Speaker Rod Jetton, R-Marble Hill, is among the latest campaign hires for state Rep. Bob Onder’s 9th District congressional campaign.
Onder, a Republican and physician from St. Charles, announced on Friday a list of seven aides and advisors who he said “have joined his campaign to bring a prescription for change to the United States House of Representatives.”
Jetton will “oversee all aspects of the campaign as general consultant,” Onder said in a release.
“Doctor Onder is a proven leader on the issues that are most important to conservatives,” said Jetton in a statement. “It is a great privilege to join his effort to bring common sense Missouri values back to Washington.”
The other hires include:
–TJ Maloney, campaign manager. From Virginia, Maloney most recently was involved in Republican Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaign, Onder said.
–Michelle Colbert, campaign coordinator. Colbert is a former aide to the departing 9th District congressman, Republican Kenny Hulshof, who’s running for governor.
–Tony Cahill, political director. A Missouri native, he “has worked for conservative causes in 5 states, including Florida and California,” Onder’s release said.
–Jay Barnes, director of communications and policy. Barnes came from the office Gov. Matt Blunt, where he worked as a communications aide.
–Dave Hageman, media consultant. Hageman heads Victory Enterprises and was just announced on Friday to be state director for the presumptive presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain.
–Randy Kammerdiener, direct mail advisor. Kammerdiener previously served as political director for the state Republican Party.
The hiring of Jetton is likely to prompt some talk among Onder’s opponents, some of whom have alleged privately that Jetton helped boost the chances of Onder’s proposed legislation during the last House session.

I will be sure to spread the word that one of the worst house speakers in MO history is now on team Onder. This will not impress the folks of the 9th district.
