The chief of staff of Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, Eric Feltner of Columbia, has been charged in Cole County Circuit Court with two class C misdemeanors of furnishing pornographic materials to a minor.

The charges were first reported this morning by the Democratic blog www.firedupmissouri.com.

According to the probable cause statement, Feltner was engaged in a discussion online with a person he believed to be a female that was 13 years old. Instead, it was an undercover Jefferson City Police Officer.

According to the court documents, Feltner “presented material pornographic for minors consisting of explicit written directions and descriptions of oral and manual stimulation of” (various sex organs) “by way of the Internet, to a person believed by the defendant to be a person under the age of eighteen years.”

Messages left at Feltner’s home number in Columbia were not returned.

How stupid do you have to be?

Someone, ANYONE, please tell me again why it is that (so many) Republicans (especially office-holders) wrap themselves in the “Family Values” mantle, and marginalize others; always maintaining their smug, moral superiority?

(that is, of course, until something like this happens).

LOL

And just where did Feltner do such a thing gaydem?

It appears that these things make news because a) it is a rare occurence for republicans to be guilty of such things and b) democrats are expected to be guilty of such things and therefore it is not news.

Neither party has a monopoly on sleeze … or stupidity. Last fall, state representative Matt Barret (D, Ohio) went to do a school presentation at a high school government class, inserted his memory stick, and displayed a slide show of porn. At first, he said the stick was a gift, and he didn’t know how the porn got on there. Then, he said his kid did it. Then, since nobody believed any of his stories, he resigned.

And a little closer to home … there’s the Democratic Missouri state senator from Columbia who caused an accident while driving drunk, refused to take a sobriety test, essentially refused to give a urine sample, and from the sound of news reports, nearly had a physical altercation with a cop in the hospital ER. And there’s the other Democratic Missouri state senator who is currently charged with a felony for using false identification to enter a casino. Etc.

Nick, you forgot the Democrat State Rep of the 107th that ran a guy over on New Year’s Eve with his truck, left the guy lay, was caught on camera switching places with his wife, and then lied to police, saying his wife was driving.

No mention of that in political fix though.

Of course who has ever heard of Michael J. Colona, and what he’s been up to?

oh come on. if any of how have been in the capitol you would know that republicans are just as likely to be sleezy as republicans. the rumor mill is always going on both sides of the aisle and the reason that this story got press is because this the the top staffer for a seat that is in play for the dems.

How sick to see that Nick and others can so comfortably and willingly compare an obvious pedophile with a drunk driver, and the other incidents. Pretty sick.

According to Fired-Up, Feltner’s criminal acts took place on May 25, 2007 and July 6, 2007 but no criminal charges were filed until May 21, 2008.

Why didn’t the Jefferson City officers not lead Feltner into felony charges, by having him attempt to meet the 13 year old who was really an officer? Would have been easy for such a pervert. Obviously there were plans to cover up Feltner’s acts.

Could this be why e-mails were destroyed and the motive to Gov. Blunt’s madness in now supporting the death penalty for child rapist when he and other Republicans were unwilling to pass the more tougher version of the Jessica Law bill when it came before him supporting a min. 25 year sentence for the sexual abuse of a child in the tougher version of the bill.

Corrupt and perverted people are very thrilled about having connections and protections in high places, and many here in Missouri do.
