Kinder’s chief of staff charged in Internet sting

The chief of staff of Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, Eric Feltner of Columbia, has been charged in Cole County Circuit Court with two class C misdemeanors of furnishing pornographic materials to a minor.

The charges were first reported this morning by the Democratic blog www.firedupmissouri.com.

According to the probable cause statement, Feltner was engaged in a discussion online with a person he believed to be a female that was 13 years old. Instead, it was an undercover Jefferson City Police Officer.

According to the court documents, Feltner “presented material pornographic for minors consisting of explicit written directions and descriptions of oral and manual stimulation of” (various sex organs) “by way of the Internet, to a person believed by the defendant to be a person under the age of eighteen years.”

Messages left at Feltner’s home number in Columbia were not returned.
