Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon, a Democrat running for governor, will be the headline speaker at this weekend’s St. Louis County Thomas Jefferson Days.

The two-day Democratic event will begin Friday night with a ”happy hour”  co-sponsored by county Prosecutor Bob McCulloch and county Executive Charlie Dooley.

According to organizers, “A legislative brunch will be held on Saturday morning, followed by a candidate forum” for Democratic candidates for attorney general, state treasurer and the 2nd Congressional District.

Nixon will take the stage at Saturday night’s banquet.

I’ve always found it amusing that the dems continue to honor the founder of their party — a slave owner — in this fashion.

I’m more than proud to be a part of the party of Lincoln.

It is NIXON

I think NIOXN is a prescription drug that regular Missourians cannot afford thanks to the GOP

Zingy–
I “fioxned” the typo. It’s now “Nixon.”

Thanks for spotting it.

Jim, most if not all of our founding fathers were slave owners. Despite that flaw, they were able to establish what has become the greatest country in history.

As to Thomas Jefferson in particular. He was the most brilliant of all….farmer, scientist, philosopher, etc. At a dinner during the Kennedy administration honoring Nobel Prize winners Kennedy said something along the lines of there not being so much talent in that room since Thomas Jefferson dined alone.

RE: The comment by Jim the Republican.

What a pathetic, irrelevant, ineffectual dig by an internet blog gadfly.

just a thought; “an internet blog gadfly” would be opposed to . . . exactly. . .? and, I know I’m no better than anyone else; wait a second here, let’s not be ridiculous. :)

Random thought…
Why is it that County Prosecuter Bob McCulloch is listed before County Executive Charlie Dooley in this posting? That is like putting the VP before the Pres, or listing a state Rep before Senator, or a deputy director before a director…

Just a thought…
