Obama camp calls for more Mo sandbaggers

While not discounting the humanitarian motives, the latest action of Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign should also dispel any doubt about the crucial nature of Missouri in this year’s presidential contest.

The campaign has sent out a blitz e-mail (and presumably, we’re talking about an e-mail list in the tens of thousands, if not greater) exhorting supporters to head out to troubled Missouri communities in danger of being overwhelmed by the Mississippi River.

Here’s the link that the campaign has sent out offering details. Interestingly, it’s to Fox.

How many sand bags has he filled? Ir he gets 10 votes per sand bag, he will no doubt carry Missouri by a 20 to 1 margin.

He will deserve the title, Obamamessiah. Good work, Hussein.

I just want everyone to take note of the diffence between Iowa and Katrina.
People are trying to save themselves and their homes, not waiting for the government to round up busses for them. I wonder what the difference is?
Did Obama call for sandbaggers before Katrina?

He also sent out a call to help in Quincy and Niota, Illinois. I guess that means Illinois is a swing state this year. Thanks for your cynical analysis.

Well Centrist, since you bring it up, it’s worth pointing out that Bush and McCain were eating birthday cake in Arizona on day two of Katrina: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c148/BarbinMD/cake1.jpg . Also, New Orleans is a bowl, so water doesn\’t have anywhere to go, so sandbagging would make absolutely no difference, but thanks for your feeble argument for privatizing disaster relief; yet another truly “cenrist” position.

Hey JohnH…he was working on the mean streets of Chicago with a Harvard degree for years for under 20k a year. Can’t diss that man on community service. Tour Chicago in his old stomping grounds and you will find nothing but respect. You, on the other hand, live off of a woman and don’t have a job! Get real, your stuff is getting old on here.
If we gathered up all your posts, to have done what you claim would make you over 300 years old. Why am I thinking of Beaver Cleaver right now???

I love it how all the lazy people posting want to diss Obama for doing something good. The point is, he is using his organization for good. Again! Just got back from bagging and I didn’t see any of you Obama bashers there, nor had anyone else. Methinks some of you other minorities are jealous of him or something. Got any solutions JohnH? You always have solutions. Give us some for these floods medicine man with your McGiver herbs and nuts.

And in addition Adam, Bush and his people turned down the Katrina homes that Lowe’s is now selling. For 35k folks could have had permanent homes designed to be added onto. Instead they got rotted FEMA trailers with mold that cost twice as much in the long run because he wanted to give his buds some contracts.
I was there during that time, and despite repub propaganda, the gov’ment really DID drag their feet until they muddied them in the puddle of shame and dismissiveness. Bush posing in front of those freshly washed military choppers while people still lacked was sickening.
These folks were no different than you or I. No less, no more. There were just many jammed into an urban area 600 feet under sea level. And the sad thing is how much progress still needs to be made. Private folks stepped in to get what we have. Our gov’ment was useless. Still is until Novemember at least.
Those faces and behaviors scared you because they were mainly dark. The craziness of those days made more sense than suburban grown men fighting just as much over Wiis. Folks tend to ridicule and blame and explain away what they feel powerless over. And we may have the chance to see, due to the fact repubs decided to buy foreign countries infrastructure instead of maintaining ours, many urban areas in just as bad a shape this spring.
