On veep race, McCaskill’s smile says it all

Our Washington bureau has already shown that, when it comes to talking about the veepstakes, Sen. Claire McCaskill has trouble staying mum. Claire McCaskill

But even when she doesn’t address it, her smile speaks for itself.

On CNN yesterday, Wolf Blitzer had McCaskill on, nominally to discuss the latest controversy surrounding Barack Obama’s vice-presidential search committee.

But then Blitzer, in front of a national cable audience, read McCaskill what Obama said about her in a story from our very own Jo Mannies:

I can tell you, there are very few people who are closer to me, who I have relied on more for counsel or advice. Should I be successful in this campaign, she will be somebody who has the utmost access to the Obama administration.

That sure sounds like somebody who is on the vice-presidential short list, Blitzer said to McCaskill.

“It’s an honor to be mentioned,” a glowing McCaskill replied. “I have complete trust in Senator Obama’s judgment in this regard. And I can’t wait to help President Obama swing some really strong punches for change…”

Pause.

“As a senator from Missouri,” McCaskill finished.

Though for anyone watching the segment — where’s YouTube when you need it? — McCaskill’s broad grin seemed to speak louder than her words.

Dear American Voters,

Hon. Senator McCain and Obama, besides each having many attributes and characteristics. The critical differences between the two of these presidential presumptive nominees are as under:

1. Presidential “Temperament and Composer”.
2. Little Washington “insider Versus outsider” experience.
3. “Vision and mission” for our nation future rather than past.
4. American policies, ” first U.S.A Centric” than any other country [ ies ] centric.

In my professional opinion Senator Obama leads in all above qualities.

The need of our next movement and generation is a change. The Change in ” past Washington and its Leadership”. A change we can believe in and not the seductive, deceptive, and confusing slogan of “leader we can believe in” [? Effexor ?".

Our Greatgrand Nation has to address many present and future challenges and start with new clean "Slate and Senator".

God Bless America. its diverse people, and our Greatgrand Nation.

Our Greatgrand Nation is needs the CHANGE at every level and for long time.

I am sure Senator Obama with the help of Senator Clinton and her supporters, can deliver that CHANGE.

Please stay involved, stay engaged, and stay informed. Please do not allow any seduction, deception, and or confusion by some partisan media and leaders effect your vote [ Psychological Terrorism ]..

Yours truly,

They could use the slogan: “Two first-term senators are better than one!”

That’s a scary thought, Kay.

Maybe two people from outside the beltway or at least new to it might be what our country needs-i.e.

I started a Draft Claire for Governor in which we had over 75 team captains statewide in 2003. She instead became a US Senator two years later. Claire McCaskill was a prosecutor in Kansas City, a single mom while serving as state representative for 3 terms and then a State Auditor. Her knowledge of local, state, and Federal levels of governments and how they work is extremely important. There has likely never been a vice presidential candidate which such a record of service.

She has become known as a center of the road legislator fighting for anti ear mark legislation and an accountability office for expenditures on the war. What she is most noticed for is that she has a pulse of the people that comes naturally and speaks out for the people when something is not in their best interest concerning government or important issues. Yes two inspiring candidates who bring out the best in people on the ticket sound real good.

Steven,

Are you serious when you say,

“There has likely never been a vice presidential candidate which such a record of service.”?

Since you seem to know little history that predates Britney Spears, here are a few vice-presidents you seem to think are lacking when compared to McKaskill:

1) John Adams
2) Thomas Jefferson
3) Theodore Roosevelt
4) Harry Truman
5) Richard Nixon
6) Lyndon Johnson
7) Nelson Rockefeller

I would suggest you read about the lives of these individuals before claiming that McKaskill’s experience in auditing Missouri nursing homes places her on par with those listed above.

P.S. Also, you might alienate people otherwise willing to be Obama suporters if you don’t drop this tendency toward hyperbole.

This V.P. candidate that supposedly has “the pulse on the people” couldn’t defeat a 32-year old rookie politician when he ran for governor of Missouri.

I’m 54,
for a little while longer, anyway…
so this ain’t my first rodeo.

Remember…
“Think Globally,act Locally’?

Well, we got a really large issue
in our own back yard.
For 4 (four) Presidential terms
Monsanto has been Corporately
taking over the FDA,
and has indoctrinated the World
with patented,
forcefully, martially, maintained
seed.
Johnny Appleseed himself,
would be taken out
by the ‘addiction’ sales plan of Monsanto,
and the Government,
which holds half of the patent
on “LIFE”

…is this…a ‘Pro Life’ issue?

In 2001, the USDA and Delta & Pine executed a Commercialization Agreement for Terminator, its infamous Patent No. 5,723,765. The Government and Delta & Pine Land were not at all concerned about worldwide outcry against Terminator.

The USDA owns half of this patent….
the first quarter of ‘08
Monsanto DOUBLED it’s profits from
same time last year….

Under the re-established definition
of the 14th Amendment,
Corporations are now
‘Freed Slaves’…with unlimited Democracy…

The Bush Administration has been GREAT
for Missouri politicians…
…and why is that?

Look at Monsanto Stock…
it climbs like Halibuton.
Look at ‘Order 81′ in Iraq…
or the stuttering of the E.U.
which has been pushed for fifty years,
meaning…
that at the beginning… these people were beggars…
war torn…

What strong statement has come from our local reps…
to protect the World from one of our own citizens?
If none, let them stay local, and learn….

Where in the above text, Khajawall, does it ever mention Clinton? With CLINTON’S help, Senator Obama may be able to institute change, but, with McCaskill, for whom the artical pertains, the outcome is much more questionable.
