Poll: Missouri a toss-up in November

Not exactly a surprise, but the latest polling data on Missouri shows our state is a purple toss-up in the contest between Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain.

The numbers, released last week by Rasmussen, show Obama leading 43-42, a statistical dead heat with McCain.

The survey was conducted among 500 likely voters on June 3, the day of the final primaries, as Obama was clinching the Democratic nomination. The margin of error was +/- 4 points.

It paints a picture of a race that is much more heated perhaps than the last two presidential elections, in which George W. Bush won both times. In the those races, the true nail-biters ended up being elsewhere: Florida in 2000, and Ohio in 2004.

Speaking of the president, only 26 percent of respondents said he is doing a good job. Fifty-six percent said he’s doing poorly.

That said, it’s not clear the president’s ratings were spilling over onto would-be GOP successor McCain. McCain’s favorables in the poll were still higher than Obama’s: 55 to 48.

Funny a man who is obviously suffering from the early stages of senility is even being considered for President. Being seventy-one is a gamble, but in view of all his speaking and thinking foul ups with he speaks, it is just plain foolish that anyone would vote for him as President.

But, all the red flags were there concerning the present Pres. Bush that could be witnessed from his speaking during the elections, but so many ignored his goofs? Look at us now because of all the people who foolishly ignored all the signs that were right there in their faces.

Are people going to now ignore the obviously very early stages of senility that McCain appears to be suffering?

Talk about red flags, Obama suggests that America has 58 states, repeatedly uses the wrong name for cities he is visiting and sees “fallen heroes” present and alive in a Memorial Day observance. It must be Obama who is suffering from the early stages of senility.

David is a perfect example of what I am speaking about concerning ignoring the obvious, refusing to see the differance between misstatements and more serious and obvious abnormal mental issues. Just as so many of them refused to see the abnormity of Bush’s foul-ups.

Mr Walker–
I fully disagree with you. I don’t care how suave and smooth the president is at a podium….I want to see one whose vision for America
is steady, and he can react firmly in crisis. Thats exactly right—
George W Bush, ridiculed by you guys for muffing soundbites, has solid steel balls, and will take the unpopular right over the easy wrong EVERY TIME. I think McCain may be cut from that same cloth. And he’s put his money where his mouth is, as a US serviceman for many years!!

Clark,

Yep, you’re element is why we have President Bush.

I hope everyone take notice of how removed from reality these people are who are supporting Republicans in our present atmosphere.
