Steelman launches new attack ad, with a rural twang

State Treasurer Sarah Steelman is up with yet another attack ad, jabbing at her Republican rival for governor, U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof.

As in her earlier spot, this one accuses Hulshof of being a big spender. And this ad is once again running primarily in southwest Missouri, the GOP’s most important turf.

I really like the ad. The last thing we want at the capitol here in Missouri is someone who has no trouble spending our tax dollars.

This is just silly. Why can\’t we hear about real issues from her instead of this Micky Mouse crap? Does she not have anything relevant to say? It costs me over $50 to fill up my tank and people are worried about keeping their jobs. I want my Governor to deal with real problems, not just talk trash.

I know people will say this is negative, but Kenny\’s record is fair game, isn\’t it? I like that they use humor to get their point across.

Judy, this is the real issue, they have time to spend our tax dollars on CRAZY projects, but can’t, get legislation passed to drill for OIL. And that was with “republican” majorities in both houses of congress and a compassionate republican president. Many of the problems in the economy got their start in DC. We don’t need that kind of expertise in Jefferson City. Do you suppose that SARAH STEELMAN, may have helped preserve Missouri jobs by investing Missouri State funds, in Missouri. And then there is the matter of making sure that state contractors don’t use illegal alien labor. Which, upon reflection, I don’t recall the folks in DC getting much done on that either.

Wow, so if Steelman is elected governor, we can look forward to 4 years of whining and mudslinging. That sounds kind of like … what I’d expect if Jay Nixon was governor.

Go, Kenny!

Don’t fret folks. It will be many an election cycle before any republican gets elected to statewide office.

I wish Sarah Steelman could do something besides mudsling.I think Kenny out-classes her. GO KENNY!!!!! WHY don’t you speak in your own ads Sarah? Do you have something to hide?

I can’t believe how sensitive Hulshof supporters are to any criticism of his record. Many other members of Missouri’s delegation voted against these wasteful pet projects. The facts are the facts.

I’m afraid willy is at least correct to the extent that Kenny is to closely identified with DC and Franklin Delano Bush to win a state wide race. What does he campaign on, the record of the DC republicans and I’m a buddy of FDB’s? Oh,and he was a prosecutor once? Should Kenny get the republican nomination, it will be Gov. Nixon. Have any of you Kenny fans checked the approval ratings for congress lately? 2006 should have been a wake-up call to the DC republicans, but they seem to be still sleeping.

I have known and worked with Kenny Hulshof for many years while he served the 9th District in D.C. He and his staff have always been most helpful with my issues. In the 9th District, we have been extremely proud of his representing us in a professional and ehtical manner.
I become very angered when I hear the smear tactics used against him. Evidently, Steelman thinks he is one powerul man in that he is responsible for over 400 votes in Congress! Had he voted against appropriations for Missouri’s roads, she would have used that against him too. It’s a no-win situation from her standpoint. Perhaps she needs to take a closer look at her own voting records. Remember, there are those of us who remember her days in the Senate all too well.
For those of you supporting Nixon, tell me what he has done in his 16 years as AG? The no-call list? Is that all? Has anyone questioned how many cases are sitting there awaiting action but they will never be pursued because they won’t net him the publicity he wants to further his career? Is anyone else angered that he is using our tax dollars to fight for a railroad bridge that belongs to the railroad?
I will take Hulshof any day over the other two. His ethics, good morals and genuine truth win my vote and support any day!
