Veteran lawyer Arnold returns to county Elections Board
Veteran Republican lawyer John Fox Arnold has been tapped by Gov. Matt Blunt to head the St. Louis County Board of Elections.
Arnold replaces John Diehl Jr., who resigned last month to run for the State House seat that opened when Scott Muschany decided against running for re-election.
The new post will be a familiar position for Arnold — he previously led the Elections Board from 1981 to 1985.
Arnold, chairman of the downtown law firm Lashly and Baer, has a long civic and legal resume. He’s served on a number of state and judicial boards, was the president of the Missouri Bar Association and chaired the Downtown St. Louis Partnership.
Because he’s filling Diehl’s unexpired term, Arnold’s appointment runs only through January.
