In a move that surprises noone, the Associated Industries of Missouri today endorsed U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof, a Republican, for governor.

The release praises his “vision of improving the lives of Missourians by strengthening the state’s economic climate…”

“As a small businessman himself, Congressman Hulshof understands what it takes to make business – and our economy – grow,” said Gary Marble, president of Associated Industries.

“Trained workers, affordable healthcare for employees, protection from frivolous lawsuits and a strong transportation infrastructure, these are the things that will allow Missouri to compete on the world stage and these are the things that Kenny Hulshof plans to work on when he becomes Governor.”

Steve Hoven, chairman of the Board of Directors of Associated Industries, pointed to the six key areas that Hulshof has outlined in his economic development platform…”

“These priorities mirror AIM’s vision of the manner in which Missouri’s economy will succeed,” said Hoven. “In the last four years the Show-Me State has taken great strides in improving its business environment, but recent news stories have served as a an unfriendly reminder that we must take every step available to make certain that Missouri can compete in the global economy.”

I don’t remember you ever starting an article about a labor union or abortion rights group endorsing a Democrat with, “In a move that surprises noone.”
