Cedric presents: Entertainer to help Hubbard’s Senate bid

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

State Rep. Rodney Hubbard continues to pour the glitz into his political scrum for the 5th District State Senate seat. Cedric the Entertainer

Hubbard has courted stars of sports and music to gain visibility for his campaign, such as boxer Devon Alexander, whose entourage wore Hubbard campaign shirts into the ring for a nationally-televised fight, and rapper Nelly, invited to Hubbard’s campaign kick-off in December.

For the home stretch before next month’s Democratic primary, Hubbard will throw a fundraiser this week featuring St. Louis native Cedric the Entertainer, the popular comedian with credits including “Barbershop” and the animated hit “Ice Age.”

The event, Thursday evening at The Spotlight night club on North Broadway, is framed as a “roast” of Hubbard, which should be interesting — even more interesting if Hubbard’s opponent, Robin Wright-Jones, buys a ticket.

hope someone ribs him about snooping out slumlords, and taking money from Paul McKee. (let’s see….McKee has five hundred plus rotting structures, paid for retroactively by $100M of State money, and grass cut with $500K of Federal Money( a Clay initiative misused). BUT…no rents are charged…hence a Eugenics minded Land Banker is not a slumlord….hmmmmm…..
Now that’s funny!
