Brian Wahby, chairman of the St. Louis Democratic Central Committee, today jumped into the city’s hotly contested 5th District state Senate contest by endorsing state Rep. Rodney Hubbard.

Hubbard is competing against state Rep. Robin Wright-Jones, a fellow Democrat, in the Aug. 5 primary. Both are seeking  the seat to be vacated by state Sen. Maida Coleman, D-St. Louis, who is leaving because of term limits.

Coleman has endorsed Wright-Jones. Since no Republican has filed, the Aug. 5 victor gets the post.

In a release this morning, Wahby called Hubbard “an accomplished legislator committed to improving the lives of people in Saint Louis and throughout Missouri.”

“Hubbard is the only candidate that has real record of legislative accomplishments,” said Wahby.  “His commitment to the Democratic Party and its principle of putting the interests of people over special interests is exceptional.  Democrats have a clear choice – Rodney Hubbard is the progressive candidate for Senator with the experience, vision and courage to effectively represent us in the Missouri Senate.”

problem is his legislative accomplishments are more in line with Republican priorities. He is not who we need in St. Louis city.

Wahby understands that you can’t be “progressive” without any legislative progress. Robin Wright-Jones hasn’t passed a single bill in 8 years!!!

Lazy folks don’t make much progress.
