Hulshof announces endorsement of Kinder
Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder officially endorsed U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof for Missouri governor today, in a move that’s been expected since Kinder pulled out of the race in February.
“I am proud today to endorse my friend Kenny Hulshof for Governor because of his solid conservative credentials that include his commitment to fiscal responsibility, good government and other policies to improve the quality of life for all Missourians,” said Kinder in a statement issued by the Hulshof campaign.
In February, Kinder made headlines when he unexpected pulled out of what was then a three-person race for the Republican nomination. The decision came at the Lincoln Days event in Springfield, a couple of hours after Kinder had walked through the hotel lobby with campaign workers cheering “Kinder for governor” behind him.
Kinder becomes the latest big-name Missouri Republican, following Sen. Kit Bond and U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt, to endorse Hulshof over Treasurer Sarah Steelman, who is also seeking the nomination.
