Mayor Slay goes live tonight on Bloomberg

Word is that Mayor Francis Slay will be live on Bloomberg TV tonight to discuss the InBev buyout of Anheuser-Busch. Not sure of the time just yet, in case anyone can or wants to tune in.

Slay has been a vocal and predictable supporter of A-B in this whole process. Even before takeover talk, Slay stressed to me at a fancy dinner in May in Forest Park that he tries to buy local as much as possible, and orders only A-B when out of town.

But the times, they are a-changing, and Slay has now said that he looks forward to working with InBev; he also also, in statements, tried to provide reassurance that the Belgian brewer will continue A-B’s tradition here.

And in case you’re wondering what the mayor is doing in NYC to be on Bloomberg, he is there for the All-Star game.

And who comped the good mayor his trip and tickets?

I am willing to bet this is like all trips Francis takes…he pays for them himself. Francis is a boyscout. It’s too bad though, in the tradition of city politics we are so used to scumbags. Oh well, unlike the past 4 mayors this one is doing a GOOD job running the city.

Will Francis say anything to MLB about how an 11-2 pitcher doesn’t make the allstar team while everyone on down to the bat boy from the 100 year losers cubs gets an invite?
