U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill’s beloved “Hair on Fire” — her nickname for communications director Adrianne Marsh — is now burning up the roads in Florida on behalf of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

Marsh, 29, confirmed this afternoon that — as of yesterday — she’s now working for the Obama campaign.

Marsh is a deputy communications director/spokeswoman in Florida, another targeted state.

Marsh said she’d asked not to be deployed in Missouri, because she didn’t want any confusion in her public statements as to whether she was speaking on behalf of Obama or McCaskill.

Marsh plans to return to McCaskill’s Senate staff after the November election.

Marsh said it was her idea to move over to Obama’s campaign because “I love my country. I believe in change and I believe that Barack Obama is the right prescription.”

Said McCaskill in a statement e-mailed this afternoon:

“While we will miss Adrianne, the Obama campaign is fortunate that she is willing to leave her job in Washington to help in one of the most important states in this historic election.

“Although the people of Florida may be used to tropical storms, Adrianne will provide a hurricane force wind at the back of the Obama campaign’s efforts to communicate clearly, effectively, and with a huge helping of Midwest common sense.”

Hair on Fire??
What a coincidence. Isn’t that Ed Rhode’s nickname too?

What are you implying tucker5? It irks most of us when people post innuendos without explining them, pretty junvenile like.

There is a reason why Sen. McCaskill sent this operative to Florida. It WAS NOT so she sends a confused message here in Missouri, it was so she sends no message at all. Claire does not want people in this state to make any direct ties to the ultra-liberal candidate for POTUS.

Let’s face it everyone. When you look at Barack Obama’s positions on taxes, guns and abortion he does not play well in the Show-Me State. Hence Senator McCaskill would like to not make such a large statement about her staff working for him, especially in Missouri!
