MO FOP backs Page

The Missouri Fraternal Order of Police has announced that it’s supporting state Rep. Sam Page, D-Creve Coeur, in his quest for Missouri lieutenant governor.

Page is challenging the Republican incumbent, Peter Kinder.

Page noted that the group, which claims about 5,000 Missouri members, endorsed no candidate for lieutenant governor in 2004.

“I’m pleased that so many members of our law enforcement community have decided to endorse my campaign,” Page said in a statement.  “I look forward to working with them at moving Missouri forward and helping our citizens stay safe.”

FOP President Kevin Ahlbrand praised Page’s actions during his six years in the Missouri House.  “He has been a leader on issues including tougher penalties for repeat drunk drivers and stronger enforcement against online child predators,” Ahlbrand said.
