Democratic governor candidate Jay Nixon has launched a second TV ad aimed at bolstering his approval rating before Republicans choose their nominee and step up their attacks.

In 30 seconds, the spot touts Nixon’s record of fighting insurance companies and telemarketers, then promises “the change we need” — everything from property tax cuts to affordable health care to more job training.

Yeah, Nixon is tough. He was tough with Ameren … until Ameren’s laundered money arrived in his campaign fund. He’s been touch with Governor Blunt about email retention - a trivial distraction, and something of which Nixon’s office is, so far as I can see, equally guilty. Nixon talks tough. But unfortunately, he talks out of both sides of his mouth. The only thing I would expect a Nixon administration to be tough on is my wallet.

Nick- your republicain governor and legislature has done such a great job-you of course are so correct! Let’s stay with losing jobs at a record pace, make higer ed more expensive to achieve and pay $5 gas. I love when you comment because it makes me realize how bad things are since the repubs had the chance to lead. It’s time for a change
