Nixon pulls in $1.75 million this quarter

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Well, today is the day, and while none of the candidates for governor have filed their quarterly fund-raising reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission yet (deadline is 5 p.m.), Attorney General Jay Nixon has sent reporters his summary sheet that shows he raised $1.75 million this quarter.

The key number is Nixon’s cash on hand, $3.75 million, which means that while Kenny Hulshof and Sarah Steelman have been beating each other up in the primary (and spending lots of money on TV ads), Nixon has been hoarding his dough.

Nixon’s summary report shows that he spent about $355,ooo this quarter and that another $350,000 was spent in in-kind contributions.
