Protesters to McCain: End the war

About a dozen activists camped out at the intersection of Ladue and Woods Mill Roads, a few hundred yards from Hunter Farms where Sen. John McCain was holding a private fundraiser.

While my colleague Jo Mannies was inside the event, I chatted a bit with some of the protesters.

Why would any Republican care what these lefties think? They’re probably all voting for Cynthia McKinney no matter what McCain does.

McCain doesn’t… but the Post does!

“All the news that fits, they print!”

***If anyone can point me to where the Post talked to protesters outside an Obama event I’ll apologize.

Sorry, should clarify; not the same AJ who posted the story.

We have video and a post on a major news organization’s main political blog because “almost a dozen protesters” gathered around the event? For Pete’s sake, I could draw a crowd of twice that many here in the People’s Republic of Columbia to listen to me speak about conservative values-and nobody even knows who I am!

Guess this shows where the P-D is leaning. Way to put those payroll dollars to good use.

SMC, you need to read the previous comments. The link I included in the comment above was a video that the same reporter did of a rally of about 20 Republicans, half of whom were probably McCain staffers.

Old Sarge, as an old VietNam war protester (actually as a protester against all wars), thank you for serving. I also thanked all of my friends and classmates who were drafted, went, served and made it back.

I found myself being investigated by the FBI because I went to meetings of the American Friends Service Committee (the Quakers). Why? Because for some strange reason the thought in that day was if you were against war and violence, and belonged to a group who had renounced violence, you might somehow overthrow the government — a line of logic that still amazes me.

Should these protesters be outside McCain rallies only, no. They should be outside recruiting centers, the White House, the Corporate Offices of Halliburton and KBR, and even Senator Obama’s rallies.

Old Sarge, here is something you may appreciate having been in the military, particularly in the VietNam era — I had just finished filling out the last form to file for my Conscientious Objector status with all of the required letters evaluations etc attached, when my draft board reclassified me IV-F. SNAFU seems to be a universal principle.
