Right to Life endorses Luetkemeyer, not Onder

Former state Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-St. Elizabeth, apparently is the only Republican in the 9th District congressional race to snag the endorsement of Missouri Right to Life, which Luetkemeyer’s campaign says raising questions about the validity of  the anti-abortion credentials of one of his rivals, state Rep. Bob Onder, R-Lake St. Louis.

Onder has been getting a lot of attention over his string of public debates over abortion with one of the Democratic contenders, former state Sen. Ken Jacob of Columbia.

“Luetkemeyer has fought against abortionists for many years including during his time as a lawmaker when he twice stood up to Democrat governors by supporting legislation banning the barbaric practice of partial-birth abortion, first as a member of the minority party and later a leader among majority Republicans,” his campaign said.

“The endorsement from Missouri Right to Life clearly shows that actions and experience speak louder than words when it comes to representing conservative values in the 9th Congressional District.”

Said Luetkemeyer in a statement:

“The endorsement of Missouri Right to Life proves that results and not political rhetoric are what will make the difference for me when the people of the 9th District go to the polls in August and November.”

We’ll post Onder’s reply if we get it.

The endorsement of Missouri Right to Life also proves that Blaine Luetkemeyer
is a moderate! Because opposing medical research that you think is going to destroy little balls of cells is a reasonable, common sense position. It’s not the kind of backwards thinking that you’d find from a wizard in the 14th century.

I can’t stop laughing at this one…Onder loses the endorsement of his one life support issue and Blaine picks one up that solidifies his stance against economic development in Missouri. It’s not necessarily the type of endorsement you want I’d say.

No one is more pro-life than Bob Onder. During the Amendment 2 fight, all billboard space in the City and County was booked. So I led an independent effort to take the pro-life message to the streets with volunteers holding large banners and signs during the weeks before the vote. We even hired an airplane to drag our banner over St. Louis during a baseball game. Bob donated to us big time out his own pocket. He didn’t get anything out of it. He just cared about the pro-life issue and thought our efforts could be effective if our volunteers had quality signs to hold. I don’t know about the other fellow, but when it comes to pro-life, Bob Onder is the real deal.

Bill is right. No one has been on the forefront of the human cloning issue more than Dr. Onder. While some politicians waste their time trying to formulate energy policy or increase economic development, Onder has been ensuring that St. Charles and the rest of the state are kept clone-free. Ever wonder why you NEVER have to wonder if the person you’re talking to is the real thing or a copy? Thank Bob Onder, who is against human clones.

I’m with AJH on this one, 14th century wizards debated important things like alchemy and how many angels fit on the head of a pin, while in more modern times strong, unwavering, steadfast pols debate things like the human ensoulment process, and illegal armies of clones.
